The No. 11 ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater volleyball team recovered from a first-set loss emphatically Friday night for a 26-28, 25-19, 25-12, 25-16 triumph at St. Norbert in a non-conference contest in De Pere, Wis.
The Warhawks (9-3 overall) led early in the first before dropping the set, but were dominant in the final three stanzas on their way to beating the Green Knights (3-12), a 2016 NCAA Tournament team.
Sophomore outside hitter
Rachel Butterfield (Milton, Wis./Milton) registered a team-high 14 kills, senior right side hitter
Sydney Racky (Walworth, Wis./Big Foot) posted 13 kills and eight digs, and senior middle hitter
Courtney Wagner (Dekalb, Ill./Dekalb) tallied 10 kills and five blocks.
Junior setter
Elizabeth Niestrom (Darien, Ill./Hinsdale South) finished with 51 assists and four blocks. Junior outside hitter
Amanda Spera (Antioch, Ill./Antioch) collected eight kills and three digs.
Junior libero
Brittany Robinson (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Menomonee Falls) recorded 16 digs to lead the defense.
UW-Whitewater continues non-conference action Saturday at 3 p.m. at Carroll.
