The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's and women's tennis teams were each defeated Saturday by the University of Chicago in St. Louis, Mo.
Men – No. 5 Chicago 9, No. 40 UW-Whitewater 0
Junior
Matt Zurowski (West Bend, Wis./East) and sophomore
Brandon Dechter (Mundelein, Ill./Carmel Catholic) came close to scoring a point at No. 3 doubles, but were edged by the Maroons' Charlie Pei and Bobby Bethke.
Junior
Zane Navratil (Racine, Wis./The Prairie School) took his first set to a tiebreaker at No. 2 singles, but was outlasted 7-6 (6), 6-4 by Pei.
The Warhawks (10-11 overall) resume play next Saturday, April 22, with matches against UW-La Crosse and UW-Eau Claire at Wangerin Courts at 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., respectively.

Senior
Megan Humphreys (Kenosha/Tremper) and junior
Bridgid McGuire (Slinger/Slinger) earned an 8-3 victory at No. 1 doubles to put the Warhawks (17-7) on the board.
Humphreys won her first set at the first singles position, but dropped a super tiebreaker to determine the match in a 4-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-7) loss against the Maroons' Ariana Iranpour.
Junior
Alicia Beck (Bismarck, ND/St. Mary's Central) won her second set at No. 4 singles, but was outlasted 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (10-5) by Estefania Navarro.
UW-Whitewater hosts the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Final Four AQ Tournament Saturday, April 29, at Wangerin Courts. The Warhawks face UW-Oshkosh in a semifinal at noon before playing in either the third-place match or the final at 3 p.m.
The team will also recognize Humphreys and fellow senior
Rachel Siemon (Crystal Lake, IL/South) on Senior Day in between the first and second matches.
