The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater wrestling team placed among the top eight in five of the 10 weight classes Saturday at the Concordia Wisconsin Open in Mequon, Wis.
 
Senior Austin Quartullo (Muskego, Wis./Muskego) placed fourth at 149 points to lead the Warhawks. Quartullo posted an impressive 4-1 decision over Wabash's Griffin Schermer, listed as a contender by D3wrestle.com, to reach the semifinal, where he was defeated by No. 1 ranked Cross Cannone of Wartburg.
 
Junior Riley Kauzlaric (Coal City, Ill./Coal City) finished fifth at 197 pounds, posting a 4-1 record for the day with his lone loss coming at the hands of second-ranked Kyle Fank of Wartburg.
 
Sophomore Mike Tortorice (Wauconda, Ill./Carmel) finished sixth at 125 pounds with a 5-2 mark, including one pin and two technical falls.
 
Juniors Nick Stencel (Oregon, Ohio/Clay) and Isaiah Vela (West Chicago, Ill./St. Charles East) placed among the top eight at 184 and 157 pounds, respectively.
 
UW-Whitewater returns to Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action Tuesday against ninth-ranked UW-Platteville. The dual begins at 7 p.m. at Kris Russell Volleyball Arena.
