The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater football team continues its Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference schedule under the lights of Perkins Stadium this Friday, Oct. 13, at 7 p.m. against UW-La Crosse. UW-Whitewater will host a free pregame tailgate concert featuring national country recording artist Jackie Lee starting at 5 p.m. in Perkins Stadium Parking Lot 24.
Fans can watch Friday night's game live on UWW-TV via channel 100.1 on campus, channel 989 on Spectrum or online (do not use Google Chrome web browser). The game will also be broadcast live on the radio on KOOLÂ 106.5 FM WKCHÂ or online at 940wfaw.com. Live statistics will be available here.
The Warhawks enter the short week following a hard-fought 14-0 victory over No. 23 UW-Stout during Family Fest and Alumni Day last Saturday at Perkins Stadium. UW-Whitewater forced three turnovers and posted seven sacks, and held the Blue Devils to a 2-of-14 conversion rate on third down. The two teams each finished with 221 yards of total offense and 15 first downs.
The Warhawks were ranked third in both Street & Smith's preseason national rankings and the D3football.com Preseason Top 25 and 15th in Lindy's Sports Division III Top 25. UW-Whitewater is receiving votes in the latest D3football.com Top 25 and the American Football Coaches Association Division III Coaches Poll.
UW-La Crosse, ranked 24th in the nation by the AFCA, is off to a 5-0 start in 2017 after downing UW-Eau Claire 45-14 at home last Saturday. The Eagles tallied 21 first-quarter points, posting a touchdown on offense, defense and special teams in the period. UW-La Crosse totaled 290 yards through the air, forced three turnovers and posted four sacks.

UW-Whitewater leads the all time series 34-32 and has won the last 14 matchups against UW-La Crosse, which had won 10 of the previous 13 meetings before the Warhawks started their current win streak. In last season's showdown, the Eagles led 22-21 at the end of the third quarter before UW-Whitewater took the lead for good on a Drew Patterson (Sussex, Wis./Hamilton) touchdown early in the fourth and added a field goal later in the quarter for a 32-22 victory on Oct. 15, 2016, in La Crosse. The Eagles gained 506 total yards of offense, but the Warhawks forced four turnovers.Â
