National recording artist Jackie Lee will perform a free pregame tailgate concert in the Perkins Stadium Parking Lot 24 prior to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater football team's game against UW-La Crosse on Friday, Oct. 13.
The Friday night showdown featuring two of the conference's most storied programs will kick off at 7 p.m., but don't miss the pregame festivities when Lee, a renowned country singer-songwriter, takes the stage at 5 p.m.
The concert is free for all students and other fans in attendance and is co-sponsored by Warhawk Athletics, UW-Whitewater's First Year Experience Office, Pepsi, Miller-Coors and Suite Cindy Barry Organic Hair Salon.
"We seek to provide fans the best possible experience when they attend our events, and this unique, Friday night event featuring a talented, up-and-coming national recording artist will build on our already strong tailgating culture at Perkins Stadium," UW-Whitewater Director of Athletics
Todd Garzarelli said. "As we move forward, we look to add more events like this to further enhance the Warhawk fan experience."
Lee, a 26-year-old singer-songwriter, is known for his single, "Getting Over You", which he recorded in 2016 following the death of his mother. Lee's brand of country includes ultra-modern, electronic sound, propulsive drums and wounded vocals.
