The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's tennis team extended its win streak over Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opponents to 85 and added another victory in a non-conference dual match Tuesday at Wangerin Courts.
The Warhawks (7-0 overall, 4-0 WIAC) bested UW-Oshkosh 9-0 to start the day before downing Illinois Tech in the first-ever meeting between the two teams, 8-1.

Paige Nierman (Hawthorn Woods, Ill./Stevenson) posted an 8-1 win at No. 2. Seniors
Bridgid McGuire (Slinger/Slinger) and
Jillian Wallace (Crystal Lake, IL/Central) capped the doubles sweep with an 8-2 victory at the first position.
McGuire and Nierman won by identical 6-2, 6-0 scores at Nos. 2 and 5 singles, respectively. Martin, playing at No. 4, and freshman
Sabrina Palavra (Skokie, Ill./Niles North), playing at No. 6, claimed identical 6-1, 6-2 victories.
Wallace collected a 6-1, 6-1 triumph at the No. 3 spot, and Talyansky finished the shutout with a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 1.
In the match against Illinois Tech (6-4), the No. 1 pair of McGuire and Wallace tallied an 8-5 victory, and the No. 2 combination of Palavra and Martin registered an 8-1 triumph. Sophomore
Madeline Slicker (Mequon, Wis./Homestead) and freshman
Allie Miller (Sturtevant, Wis./Union Grove) teamed up for an 8-3 win at No. 3.
Wallace (No. 2), Nierman (No. 3) and Slicker (No. 6) surrendered only one game apiece in singles victories. Palavra and Goebel were straight set winners at the Nos. 4 and 5 positions, respectively.
The Warhawks continue action this Friday and Saturday with the annual two-day Warhawk Fall Invitational at Wangerin Courts.
