The No. 9 ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater volleyball team turned in a complete all-around performance against one of the region's top teams Tuesday night, downing Carthage 25-20, 25-19, 25-19 in a non-conference contest at Russell Arena.
The Warhawks (13-3 overall) trailed 2-1 in the first set, and after leveling the score at 2-2, never trailed again in the match.
UW-Whitewater held the Lady Reds (12-5) to a .048 hitting percentage to earn its sixth consecutive victory.
Senior middle hitter
Courtney Wagner (Dekalb, Ill./Dekalb) paced the offense with nine kills to go along with three blocks. Senior right side hitter
Sydney Racky (Walworth, Wis./Big Foot) tallied eight kills and added nine digs, and junior middle hitter
Kelley Berk (Cedarburg, Wis./Divine Savior Holy Angels) posted eight kills and three blocks.

Elizabeth Niestrom (Darien, Ill./Hinsdale South) registered 33 assists, five digs and four blocks. Junior libero
Brittany Robinson (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Menomonee Falls) recorded 15 digs, and sophomore defensive specialist
Elizabeth Tworek (Lake Zurich, Ill./Carmel Catholic) totaled eight digs.
The Warhawks ran off seven straight points on Racky's serve to turn a 2-1 deficit into an 8-2 lead in the first set. The Lady Reds drew to within 12-10 before UW-Whitewater scored five of the next six points, including two on kills by Racky.
Carthage tallied five straight points to narrow its deficit to 20-18, but Berk and Rackky collected back-to-back kills to thwart the run, and Wagner closed the set with a kill four points later.
In the second, the two teams traded points before a 6-1 run by the Warhawks made it 18-12. From there, the Lady Reds got no closer than five.
UW-Whitewater scored five of the first six points in the third and added another 4-0 run on the serve of sophomore defensive specialist

UW-Whitewater visits Augustana Thursday at 7 p.m. for a non-conference affair in Rock Island, Ill.
