The No. 9 ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater volleyball team earned its seventh consecutive victory in dramatic fashion Thursday night, coming back from two sets down to defeat Augustana 22-25, 24-26, 25-19, 25-19, 15-3 in a non-conference contest in Rock Island, Ill.
Trailing 2-1 in the match, the Warhawks (14-3 overall) jumped out to a 10-5 lead in the fourth, but the Vikings fought back to tie the set at 14-14.
UW-Whitewater claimed 11 of the final 16 points in the set to level the match at 2-2.
In the fifth, the Warhawks jumped all over the Vikings (9-11), taking leads of 5-0 and 10-2 en route to clinching their second win against Augustana this season.
Junior outside hitter
Amanda Spera (Antioch, Ill./Antioch) was one of four players in double figures in kills for UW-Whitewater, tallying a team-high 13 with a .364 hitting percentage. Junior middle hitter
Kelley Berk (Cedarburg, Wis./Divine Savior Holy Angels) collected 12 kills and two blocks, and senior right side hitter
Sydney Racky (Walworth, Wis./Big Foot) registered 11 kills and a career-high 20 digs.

Courtney Wagner (Dekalb, Ill./Dekalb) contributed 11 kills and nine blocks, and junior setter
Elizabeth Niestrom (Darien, Ill./Hinsdale South) recorded 53 assists, nine digs and four blocks. Senior outside hitter
Shelby Clifton (Mountain Grove, Mo./Mountain Grove) finished with a career-best eight kills.
Junior libero
Brittany Robinson (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Menomonee Falls) totaled 31 digs, two service aces and three assists. Freshman defensive specialist
Abigail Boyden (Malta, Ill./DeKalb) finished with 19 digs, and sophomore defensive specialist
Elizabeth Tworek (Lake Zurich, Ill./Carmel Catholic) added 13 digs.
The Vikings won a pair of back-and-forth sets to open the match. UW-Whitewater led for the last part of the third set and avoided a three-set sweep, extending the match to a fourth set.
The Warhawks return to Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action Tuesday against UW-Platteville. First serve at Russell Arena is set for 7 p.m.
