The No. 14 ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater volleyball team finished the weekend (2-2) after splitting a pair of games on Saturday afternoon during the second day of the Elmhurst (Ill.) Invitational.

The Warhawks (2-2 overall) capped the afternoon off with a 25-18, 25-18, 25-14 straight set victory over Augustana College (Ill.).

Following the conclusion of the tournament, senior outside hitter Lauren Pfeifer (Fort Atkinson, Wis./Fort Atkinson) was named to the All-Tournament Team.

UW-Whitewater, looking for revenge after dropping its first match of the day against Bluffton (Ohio), came out on fire against the Vikings (2-2) in its second match of the day.

Augustana fought hard early in the first two sets, but the nationally ranked Warhawks proved to be too much on offense.

Pfeifer recorded a double-double with 11 kills and 11 digs. Freshman outside hitter Alexandra Bialo (Greendale, Wis./Greendale) tallied 11 kills, while junior outside hitter Sydney Racky (Walworth, Wis./Big Foot) posted nine kills to pace the offense.

Senior setter Staci Hasler (Sheboygan Falls, Wis./Sheboygan Falls) collected 35 assists, seven kills, and five digs in the contest. Sophomore libero Brittany Robinson (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Menomonee Falls) led the defense with 23 digs.

Against Bluffton (Ohio) (3-0), UW-Whitewater took the first set 25-18 to take an early lead, but dropped the next three sets 21-25, 19-25, and 28-30 to end the match.

In the fourth, the Warhawks jumped out to a 11-4 lead, but the Beavers fought back to tie the game at 23 apiece before finally sealing the victory with a service ace.

Junior middle hitter Courtney Wagner (Dekalb, Ill./Dekalb) led the offense with a team-high 14 kills. Pfeifer contributed 11 kills, nine digs and two service aces, while Hasler tallied 42 assists and six digs.

Robinson and freshman Elizabeth Tworek (Lake Zurich, Ill./Carmel Catholic) paced the defense with 23 and 14 digs, respectively.

UW-Whitewater will be back in action September 7th with games against Dominican University (Ill.) at 3 p.m. and Elmhurst College (Ill.) 7 p.m. in the Kris Russell Volleyball Arena.
