The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's track and field team completed the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships Saturday, placing fifth at the three-day meet at Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa.
The Warhawks finished the meet with 25 points to record their third top-five national outdoor finish in the last four years.
Sophomore
Parker Witt (Appleton, Wis./Appleton North) garnered the third and fourth All-America honors of his career to lead UW-Whitewater on Saturday. He finished fourth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.97 seconds, and was eighth in the 200-meter dash, crossing the finish line in 24.20 seconds.
Competing in the hammer throw for the second straight outdoor season, senior
Zach Stockheimer (Mukwonago, Wis./Mukwonago) wrapped up his career with a fourth-place finish in the event. He registered a toss of 191-04 (58.33 meters).
Other point scorers for UW-Whitewater on the weekend included sophomore
Theron Baumann (Monona Grove, Wis./Monona Grove), who finished as national runner-up in the discus and placed fourth in the shot put, and sophomore Cameron MaGee, who was eighth in the high jump.
Other Warhawk qualifiers included senior
Mike Judd (Chicago, Ill./St. Laurence), who placed 17th in the 110-meter hurdles, and the 4x100-meter relay team of Witt, juniors
Connor Larson (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles North),
Grant Loess (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles North) and
Zak Loess (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles North), which finished 11th.
