The No. 6 ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater baseball team was swept on Saturday afternoon against fifth ranked UW-La Crosse in a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader in La Crosse, Wis.
The Warhawks (21-8 overall, 8-6 WIAC) dropped the opener 6-2 before falling 6-0 in the second game.
Despite outhitting the Eagles (25-6 overall, 14-0 WIAC) by an 8-4 margin in Game 1, the Warhawks left 7 runners on base and were held to a pair of fourth-inning runs.

Dane Burman (Milton, Wis./Milton) and sophomore designated hitter
Blake Fleischman (Germantown, Wis./Germantown)n led UW-Whitewater with two hits apiece, while sophomore outfielder
Austin Jones (Wauwatosa, Wis./West) recorded a hit and run batted in.
Junior
Mike Nompleggi (Oconto Falls/Oconto Falls) took the loss to drop to 2-1 for the year. The right-hander allowed three runs in six innings of work and totaled five strikeouts.
After UW-La Crosse scored twice in the first inning to take an early lead, the Warhawks bounced back to score two runs in the fourth inning to tie the game at two.
UW-Whitewater was unable to put any pressure on the Eagles in the late innings. UW-La Crosse scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take the lead and seal the victory.
In the nightcap, UW-La Crosse tallied three unanswered runs in the first two innings and didn't look back. UW-Whitewater once again outhit the Eagles by a margin of 10-8 but were plagued by six fielding errors.
