The No. 2 ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's track and field team opened the 2016 outdoor season Sunday by winning the five-team Rex Foster Invitational on a cold, blustery day at Rex Foster Track.
The Warhawks totaled 333 points to defeat UW-Oshkosh, which finished with 273.
Sophomore
Theron Baumann (Monona Grove, Wis./Monona Grove) won a pair of events to lead UW-Whitewater. He finished first in the shot put with a toss of 51-07.75 (15.74 meters) and claimed the top spot in the discus throw with a 148-06 (45.27 meters).
Senior
Bryce Rudebeck (Waterford, Wis./Waterford Union) won the 400-meter dash in 49.44 second, and was runner-up in the 200-meter dash with a career-best 22.04.

Matt Green (Mukwonago, Wis./Mukwonago). Judd won the 110-meter hurdles with a mark of 14.76, while Loess was first in the 100-meter dash with a 10.63. Green claimed the triple jump with a 43-10.75 (13.38 meters), Stockheimer was first in the hammer throw with a result of 176-05 (53.77 meters) and Bullis won the javelin with a personal-record throw of 175-04 (53.44 meters).
Sophomore
Jonah Nelson (Dodgeville, Wis./Dodgeville/Mineral Point) was second in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:00.04, and sophomore
Brett Harms (Whitewater, Wis./Whitewater) was runner-up in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a mark of 9:53.47.
The Warhawks continue action Saturday at the UW-Platteville Invitational at 11 a.m.
