Junior
Rithwik Rajshekhar Raman (Chennai, Tamil Nadu-India/SAIDS British Education) clinched the match for the Warhawks (14-4 overall) with a 7-5, 6-4 triumph at No. 3 singles. It was his second straight match-sealing win for UW-Whitewater.
The Tigers (6-5) claimed two of three doubles contests to take a 2-1 lead heading into singles play. Raman and junior
Scott Butler (Eagan, MN/Eagan) paired up at No. 2 doubles for an 8-1 victory.
Sophomore
Zane Navratil (Racine, Wis./The Prairie School) tied the match at 2-2 with a 6-3, 6-2 win at the fifth singles spot. Senior
Matt Bisbee (Chicago, IL/Marist) gave the Warhawks the lead with a 6-2, 7-6 (4) triumph at the No. 6 position.
Sophomore
Grant Thompson (Hawthorn Woods, Ill./Lake Zurich) claimed a third-set super tiebreaker for a 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 (10-4) victory at No. 4 singles, setting up Raman's late heroics. Three of the six singles matches were decided by a third-set super tiebreaker.
UW-Whitewater wraps up its spring break trip Thursday with matches against Erskine (S.C.) and Virginia Wesleyan at 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Central Time, respectively.
