Stevens Point, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's and women's track and field teams both competed in the Stevens Point Invite on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Warhawk men placed first out seven teams with a team score of 178. The women finished second of eight teams with a final tally of 133.50.
 
For the men, sophomore Parker Witt (Appleton, Wis./North) won the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.91 seconds. Teammates Robert Starnes (Green Bay, Wis./Preble) and Leonard Carson (Milwaukee, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran HS) took second and third in the event. Starnes finished with a time of 7.18 seconds, while Carson finished with a time of 7.19.
 
Starnes also won the long jump with a jump of 7.32. UW-Whitewater took second through fourth in the event as well. Sophomore Cameron Magee took second with a jump of 6.70m, while Zak Loess (St. Charles, Ill./North) took third with a jump of 6.59m, and Grant Loess (St. Charles, Ill./North) finished in fourth with a jump of 6.25m.
 
Magee also won the high jump with a jump of 1.96m. Teammate Dylan Ferger (Beloit, Wis./Turner) took fourth with a jump of 1.91m. Ferger also won the triple jump with a leap of 12.10m.
 
Sophomore Brett Harms (Whitewater, Wis./Whitewater) placed first in the 1-mile run with a time of 4:21.05, and Noah Stamsta (Waunakee, Wis./Waunakee) was third in the event with a time of 4:26.73.
 
On the women's side, freshman Liz Mielke (Whitewater, Wis./Whitewater) and junior Amanda Strupp (Slinger, Wis./Slinger) placed first in individual events.
 
The Warhawks were represented in the jumps as senior Tyler Henderson (Madison, Wis./Verona) took second in the triple jump with a 10.95m, Morgan McCuen (Franklin, Wis./Franklin) took third in the long jump with a 5.09m, and sophomore Erika Sternard (Cary, Ill./Cary-Grove) took fourth in the high jump with a 1.58m.
 
Strupp finished first in the weight throw with a toss of 16.89m. Senior Amy Kahl (Huntley, Ill./Huntley) and Liberty Wiesman finished second and third in their respective events. Kahl finished the 800-meter run in 2:32.55 to finish third, and Wiesman posted a throw of 12.64m in the shot put to take second.
