Taylor Ortiz (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles East) and Alex Whiteman (Mount Prospect, Ill./Prospect) scored a goal apiece while Chris Lucatorto (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles East) made four saves as the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's soccer team finished in a 2-2 double-overtime tie with St. Olaf College Saturday afternoon in Whitewater.

St. Olaf got on the board early in the second half when they got a free kick that was sent into the box and headed into the back of the net by Aaron Miller to take the 1-0 lead.

Dylan Hottsmith (DeKalb, Ill./DeKalb) got to a through ball in the 61st minute and flicked the ball over the St. Olaf goalie that hit the post, but rebounded right back to him and he put the ball on goal but was deflected by a Lions defender.

UW-Whitewater responded in the 62nd minute off of a corner kick that was tipped around the box before Hottsmith got a foot on it and passed it to Ortiz who did the rest and tied up the game 1-1.

The Lions took the lead back two minutes later on a goal by Tylor Rosera assisted by Pato Cortina. Cortina sent a ball into the box that was headed into the back of the net by Rosera for the 2-1 lead.

The Warhawks turned up the pressure late in the second half and put St. Olaf's net minder to the test sending multiple balls into the box. The Lions goalie made key saves to keep UW-Whitewater off the board.

UW-Whitewater got a great cross into the box by Jordan Kayser (Elkhorn, Wis./Elkhorn) and it landed on the head of Alex Whiteman (Mount Prospect, Ill./Prospect) who put the ball into the back of the net to tie the game at 2-2.

The first overtime was heavily controlled by the Lions. A shot in the 91st minute was saved by Lucatorto, who came back with a huge save in the 94th minute to help the Warhawks get to the second overtime period.

The Warhawks got one shot off in the second overtime period but the ball was wide right of the goal and the game would come to an end with a 2-2 tie.
