A goal in each half carried the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Simpson College Monday night in Indianola, Iowa. The Warhawks, 7-3-2, have won four of their last five matches.
Â
Justin Stanko (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles North) put the Warhawks on the board in the seventh minute of play when he headed in a throw-in from

Â
Two and a half minutes later,
Hozai Ceballos (Janesville, Wis./Janesville Craig) had two opportunities to give the Warhawks a two goal cushion, but both of his shots were stopped by Storm goalkeeper Chris Harris.
Â
Simpson evened the score in the 35th minute and continued to pressure the Warhawks for the remainder of the half.
Â
UW-W goalkeeper
Chris Lucatorto (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles East) made six saves in the first 45 minutes, three of which came in the final seven minutes before halftime.
Â
The teams traded shots on goal in the first twenty minutes of the second half, forcing both goalkeepers to make several saves.
Â
A shot by Simpson's Donevan Roe in the 71st minute was stopped by Lucatorto, and on a quick counterattack, UW-W's
Dylan Hottsmith (DeKalb, Ill./DeKalb) scored the go ahead goal when he headed in a pass from Ceballos. The tally is the seventh of the season for Hottsmith.
Â
Lucatorto remained stout in goal for the rest of the match, including three saves in the final six minutes of play. He finished the match with a season-high 12 saves to earn his seventh win of the season.
