Senior
Michael Treis (Brookfield, Wis./Brookfield Central) and junior
Scott Butler (Eagan, MN/Eagan) combined for a 6-4 victory at No. 1 doubles to lead the Warhawks (1-2 overall).
The Huskies (1-1) won the remaining two matches to claim the doubles point. (In Division I play, the winner of at least two doubles matches earns one point.)
In singles play, freshman
Rory Calabria (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove) and senior
Michael Schnarr (Madison/Memorial) each played competitive sets at Nos. 5 and 6, respectively, but were outlasted in their respective matches.
Northern Illinois claimed all six singles matches in straight sets.
UW-Whitewater returns to action Feb. 6 at XS Tennis Club in Chicago against Kenyon (Ohio) and the University of Chicago. Matches are slated for 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., respectively.
