The No. 12 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater volleyball team found its offensive rhythm Friday night in a 25-18, 25-18, 25-16 victory over UW-Stout in a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest in Menomonie, Wis.
The Warhawks (17-3 overall, 2-1 WIAC), who won their seventh consecutive match, posted a .223 hitting percentage while holding the Blue Devils (10-11, 1-2) to .065. UW-Whitewater registered 10 blocks as a team.
Junior outside hitter
Lauren Pfeifer (Fort Atkinson, Wis./Fort Atkinson) tallied 12 kills, six digs and three blocks to lead the Warhawks. Sophomore
Courtney Wagner (Dekalb, Ill./Dekalb) recorded seven kills, a team-best seven blocks and a pair of service aces.
Senior right side hitter
Brittney Langley (Winnebago, Ill./Winnebago) contributed seven kills. Junior setter
Staci Hasler (Sheboygan Falls, Wis./Sheboygan Falls) collected 27 assists, two service aces, seven digs and four blocks.
Freshman defensive specialist
Brittany Robinson (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Menomonee Falls) generated a team-high 12 digs. Junior defensive specialist
Tessa Weber (Pleasant Prairie, Wis./Tremper) had 11.
The Warhawks trailed 15-10 in the second before finishing the set on a 15-3 run.
UW-Whitewater continues its WIAC road trip Saturday at UW-River Falls. First serve is scheduled for 12 p.m.
