The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's tennis team won its 60th consecutive Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference dual match Tuesday, defeating UW-Oshkosh 8-1 in Oshkosh, Wis.

The Warhawks (7-0, 4-0 WIAC), who have dropped just four team points in conference play so far, took all three doubles matches before earning wins in five of six singles contests as they continue their quest for an eighth consecutive WIAC championship.

The Titans dropped to 3-7 overall and 1-2 in league play with the loss.

Megan Humphreys (Kenosha/Tremper) and freshman
Jillian Wallace (Crystal Lake, IL/Central), playing together for the first time this season, posted the largest margin of victory in doubles with an 8-2 triumph at the second position. Junior captain
Ashley Miller (Racine/Union Grove) and sophomore
Amy Upthagrove (Muskego/Muskego) teamed up for an 8-3 win at No. 3.

Bridgid McGuire (Slinger/Slinger) and
Alicia Beck (Bismarck, ND/St. Mary's Central), who are headed to next week's ITA Small College National Championships in doubles, registered an 8-5 victory at the top slot. The pair is now 13-2 playing together this fall.

Humphreys, also headed to the ITA meet next week in singles, tallied her team-leading 15th triumph of the season, 6-1, 6-1, at the No. 1 position. McGuire and Upthagrove were victorious by identical 6-0, 6-2 scores playing at No. 2 and No. 4, respectively.

Alexandra Talyansky (Mequon/Homestead) moved to 11-1 for the season with a 6-1, 6-1 win at the fifth spot.

UW-Whitewater hosts the Warhawk/Panther Invite this Friday and Saturday at Wangerin Courts. Play begins at 10 a.m. on Friday and features teams from the NCAA Division I, II, III and NAIA levels.
