The UW-Whitewater men's tennis team improved to 20-7 with a 6-3 win over Coe College Sunday at the Clark Racquet Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Coe, ranked eighth in the Central Region by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, falls to 22-7 this year.

Kevin Friend (Deerfield, IL/Deerfield) and
Cam Laktash (Crystal Lake, IL/South) played in the tightest match, at three doubles, and won 9-8 to improve to 9-2 as a tandem.
Byron Balkin (Madison/Memorial) and
Jake Humphreys (Kenosha/Tremper) moved to a perfect 8-0 when playing together with an 8-6 win at one doubles.
Ben Shklyar (Deerfield, IL/Deerfield) and
Martin Beck (Minneapolis/South) are now 9-1 after an 8-4 victory at two doubles.
The Warhawks number one singles player, Humphreys, defeated regionally ranked Noah Sprinkel 7-5, 6-0 to improve to 26-6 this season. Balkin and
Brian Klein (Brookfield/East) picked up the Warhawks' other two singles wins. They have each won seven consecutive singles matches.
Regular season competition has come to an end for the Warhawks who will now await the announcement of the field of teams for the 2014 NCAA DIII Men's Tennis Championship. The announcement is scheduled for May 5 at 7 pm.
