Women Earn Split on Day Two of Spring Trip

The UW-Whitewater women's tennis team split two matches Tuesday in Hilton Head, South Carolina to move to 13-3 in dual matches this season.  In their first match the Warhawks fell to Carleton 5-4.  With the win the Knights improved to 9-1.  In their second match, UW-W topped Centre 8-1.  Centre falls to 1-5 this season.

Alexandra Bayliss (Sheboygan/North) earned her 20th and 21st singles wins on Tuesday with two three-set matches.  Against Carleton she won 6-4, 2-6, 10-5, and against Centre she won 1-6, 6-0, 10-6.  She also paired with Jackie Vitale (Roselle, IL/Lake Park) to earn a win in doubles against Carleton.  The tandem is 15-5 this season.

Megan Humphreys (Kenosha/Tremper) won her team leading 23rd singles match with a straight sets win over Carleton's Claire Spencer.

Erika Williams (Burnsville, MN/Lakeville South) won two singles matches to improve to 16-5.  Against Carleton she breezed past Molly Hemes 6-2, 6-3, and against Centre she battled for a three set win 6-2, 4-6, 10-8.

The Warhawks will face Oberlin at 9:00 am Eastern tomorrow and North Central later in the day at 3:00 pm.  The two matches will be the final two on their spring trip.
