JACKSON, Wis. – The UW-Whitewater men's tennis team fell to Gustavus Adolphus College,
eighteenth in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association poll, 7-2, at the Pleasant Valley Tennis and Fitness Club Sunday morning. The Warhawks, twenty-fourth in the ITA poll, are now 7-5 in dual meets and the Golden Gusties are 10-1.
Results
Cam Laktash (Crystal Lake, IL/South) and
Martin Beck (Minneapolis/South) put up a fight at third doubles, but dropped an 8-6 decision while
Jake Humphreys (Kenosha/Tremper) and
Scott Butler (Eagan, MN/Eagan) fell 8-4 at second doubles.
Humphreys dropped his first set, 4-6, at first singles, but came back to take the final two, 6-3, 10-8, to earn a point for UW-W.
Byron Balkin (Madison/Memorial) at second singles, came away with a 7-6 (7-3), 6-4 win for his eighth win of the year and the Warhawks' second point.
The Warhawks will play a doubleheader when they host Carthage at 3:30 and Luther at 7:00 on Friday in Janesville, Wis.
