Men's Netters Blank Cardinal Stritch

JANESVILLE, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin Whitewater's men's tennis team shutout Cardinal Stritch by a tally of 9-0, Friday afternoon at the Premier Tennis and Fitness Club in Janesville, Wis.

Results

Ben Shklyar (Deerfield, IL/Deerfield), Byron Balkin (Madison/Memorial), Brian Klein (Brookfield/East) and Cam Laktash (Crystal Lake, IL/South) all won both their doubles and singles matches on the day. Shklyar swept first singles, 6-1, 6-2, and worked with Balkin to take first doubles, 8-4. Balkin added a singles win, taking second singles in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1.

Klein earned a point at fifth singles, 6-3, 6-2, and teamed with Martin Beck (Minneapolis/South) to win third doubles 8-4. Laktash won sixth singles, 6-1, 6-3, and teamed up with Kevin Friend (Deerfield, IL/Deerfield) to blank their opponent at second doubles, 8-0.

Also adding singles wins were Rithwik Rajshekhar Raman (Chennai, Tamil Nadu-India/SAIDS British Education) at third singles, 6-4, 6-2, and Matt Bisbee (Chicago, IL/Marist), 6-3, 6-2, at fourth singles.

The Warhawks will travel to Hilton Head Island, S.C. next where they will take on five opponents starting March 24.
