JANESVILLE, Wis. – The UW-Whitewater men's tennis team, ranked fifth in the ITA Central Region, defeated sixth ranked University of Chicago, 5-4, on Friday to improve to 7-4 and earn its sixth consecutive win while the Maroons fall to 3-3.
Results
The Warhawks took two of the three doubles matches, with
Ben Shklyar (Deerfield, IL/Deerfield) and
Byron Balkin (Madison/Memorial) taking first doubles, 8-6, and
Cam Laktash (Crystal Lake, IL/South) and
Martin Beck (Minneapolis/South) winning third doubles, 8-6.
Jake Humphreys (Kenosha/Tremper) earned a point at first singles by taking his match in straight-sets, 6-4, 7-5, and
Matt Bisbee (Chicago, IL/Marist) won sixth singles, 6-4, 6-4.
Rithwik Rajshekhar Raman sealed the match with a three-set win at fourth singles, 7-5, 2-6, 6-3.
UW-Whitewater will face Gustavus Adolphus, ranked fourth in the region, on Sunday in Jackson, Wis. at 10:00 am.
