Box Score UW-Whitewater dominated in all facets of Wednesday's 3-0 win over St. Norbert College at Fiskum Field in Whitewater. The Warhawks (1-0-0) tallied more shots, corner kicks and time of possession than the visiting Green Knights (1-2-0).

John Gottwald (South Milwaukee, Wis./South Milwaukee) broke into the scoring column in the 21st minute ripping one past the Green Knight goalkeeper on a direct kick from about eight yards outside the penalty box.

Eight minutes into the second half Bob Shone (St. Charles, IL/St. Charles East) found Sam Kuchenreuther (Brown Deer, Wis./Brown Deer) who buried the ball in the back of the net to give the Warhawks a 2-0 advantage.

Kuchenreuther had his hand, or foot, in the final goal as well finding Xander Lien (Pewaukee, Wis./Arrowhead) with a long ball that Lien sent between the keeper's legs for the final goal of the game.

Josh Rohde (Waukesha, Wis./Waukesha West) played the full ninety minutes in goal for the Warhawks and did not have to make a single save to earn the shutout.

The Warhawks peppered the St. Norbert defense with 16 shots while the Green Knights managed only seven. Twenty-six different Warhawks saw the field in the season opener.

UW-W will host Edgewood on Friday at Fiskum Field at 7 pm.
