Box Score The Carthage Red Men scored the only goal of the game in the 82nd minute to upset twentieth ranked UW-Whitewater 1-0 Sunday in Kenosha. The loss is the first of the season for the Warhawks who are now 8-1-0. Carthage improves to 8-3-0.
The Reds outshot the Warhawks 11-5, including 3-2 on goal. UW-W's two best chances came in the 48th minute when Riley Monahan fired a shot on goal and in the 91st minute when
Dante Schiro (Madison/LaFollette) did the same. Both were saved by Carthage goalkeeper Nick Huftalin.
UW-W's five shots and two shots on goal are season lows. This is the sixth game that the Warhawks have played in that has been decided by one goal.
Up next the Warhawks will travel to Chicago, Illinois for a match against North Park Tuesday, October 1 at 7 pm.
