Women Netters 1-1 in First Day of Midwest Invite

UW-Whitewater, ranked twenty-second in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division III national poll, fell to number twenty-five Case Western Reserve University 7-2 in the first round at Nielsen Tennis Stadium and bounced back to a 6-3 win over Gustavus Adolphus in round two at Cherokee Country Club in the Midwest Invitational Friday in Madison, Wisconsin.

The Warhawks were competing without Sydney Divelbiss (Middleton/Middleton), their number one singles player (19-10) and Bayliss' partner at one doubles (15-5), who missed the matches with an illness.

UW-Whitewater will face Carleton at 8:30 Saturday morning at Nielsen Tennis Stadium. The tournament will conclude Saturday.

UW-W is 13-8 in dual matches.  Case Western is 10-5. Gustavus Adolphus holds a 6-3 record this season.
