Warhawks Fall to Titans on the Road

Box Score The UW-Whitewater men's soccer team fell to #6 UW-Oshkosh 4-0 on the road Saturday evening in a battle for the top seed in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship. The first-ever WIAC Championship will open with semifinal play Wednesday, November 6. Whitewater, the #2 seed, will host UW-Superior at 6:00. UW-O, the top seed in the tournament, will host the four seed, UW-Platteville at 6:00 in Oshkosh. The championship will be played at the location of the highest remaining seed Friday, November 8. The winner of the inaugural WIAC Championship will be crowned the WIAC Champion.

A free kick started in motion the first scoring play of the game for UW-Oshkosh. Jacob Hernandez found the back of the net at the 26:46 mark for the lone goal of the first half. The teams were relatively even in the first half with Oshkosh owning a 5-4 advantage shots and just one more corner than the Warhawks but the Titans had the most important advantage, a 1-0 lead.

UW-W rattled off seven shots in the second half including four on goal but UW-O's goalie kept Whitewater off the scoreboard.

Warhawk goalie Josh Rohde (Waukesha, Wis./Waukesha West) faced 15 shots and made four saves in the contest but falls to 11-5-1 on the season. Titan goalie Sam Gabrilska improves to 9-3.

UW-W is 14-5-1 overall while Oshkosh remains unbeaten at 14-0-4.
