North Park Tops UW-W 3-0

Box Score In a rare occurrence, the UW-Whitewater men's soccer team gave up three goals in a 3-0 loss to North Park University Tuesday in Chicago, Illinois.  Prior to Tuesday's match the Warhawks had only given up four goals all season and never more than one in a game.  The Warhawks, ranked 19th by the NSCAA and 22nd by D3soccer.com, fall to 8-2-0 this season while the Vikings improve to 6-3-1.

Jonas Petterson will haunt the Warhawks for the next couple of days.  Petterson was involved in each of the three goals, scoring two and assisting on the other.  Petterson scored the first goal of the game in the tenth minute, added an assist on the second goal in the 58th minute, and scored the final goal in the 87th minute.

The Warhawks outshot the Vikings 20-15 in the game, and six were on goal, but they could never get one past the North Park keeper.  Bob Shone (St. Charles, IL/St. Charles East) and Ed Horrocks (Olney, England/Ousedale) led the offensive attack with two shots on goal apiece.

UW-W started the season 8-0-0 and has since lost two games but will look to get back on the winning track on Sunday, October 6 when they travel to Platteville for a match against the Pioneers at 2 pm.
