UW-Whitewater swept Concordia University (Wisconsin) 9-0 Monday night on the Wangerin Courts on campus.  UW-W, 19-4 and ranked eighteenth in Division III, did not lose a set in the match.

Although UW-W used Schaefer (25-5) and Smith (21-6) at 1-2 in singles as usual, Kasten (24-3) and Jackie Vitale (Roselle, IL/Lake Park) (19-2) both moved up a couple of flights, and Day (5-1) and Fitzgerald (6-1) earned a rare spot in the lineup.  All of the doubles pairs used by Whitewater were playing together for the first time.

UW-W will host the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference playoff this weekend.  UW-W, the conference champion, will face fourth seeded UW-La Crosse at noon Saturday, then, if they win, play again Saturday at 3:00 against the winner of UW-Oshkosh and UW-Eau Claire.  The winner of the WIAC playoff earns the league's automatic berth in the NCAA Division III team championship tournament, a spot UW-W has held the last five consecutive years.

The WIAC playoff will be played on the Wangerin Courts, south of Williams Center on the north end of campus.  There is no spectator charge.
