Netters Notch Seventh Consecutive Win

The UW-Whitewater men's tennis team topped UW-Oshkosh 7-2 on the road Friday afternoon in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference final four in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The Warhawks will face UW-La Crosse and UW-Eau Claire at 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Saturday in Oshkosh to wrap-up the set of dual matches.

#2 Andrew Bayliss (Sheboygan/North) (UWW) defeated Kevin Lewis (UWO) 6-1, 6-2
#3 Andy McGlashen (Southampton, England/) (UWW) defeated Aiden Sauberlich (UWO) 6-3, 6-0
#4 Mitch Osborne (Crystal Lake, IL/Central) (UWW) defeated Scott Niemi (UWO) 6-4, 6-0
#5 Erik Scanlan (Libertyville, IL/Libertyville) (UWW) defeated Jason Alexander (UWO) 6-2, 6-0
#6 Brady Porter (Madison/Memorial) (UWW) defeated Adam Kasper (UWO) 7-5, 7-5

Doubles
#1 Brooks/Lewis (UWO) defeated Balkin/Osborne (UWW) 9-7
#2 Bayliss/McGlashen (UWW) defeated Sauberlich/Kasper (UWO) 8-2
#3 Cameron Laktash (Crystal Lake, IL/South)/Brian Klein (Brookfield/East) (UWW) defeated Niemi/Josh Hopfensperger (UWO) 8-1

Osborne improves to 11-2 at number four singles and 19-5 overall this season. McGlashen posted his eleventh win of the season to go with just three losses at number three singles. Bayliss notched his twelfth win at number two singles to lead the team in singles flight wins.

The Warhawk doubles team of McGlashen and Bayliss combined to record their ninth win at number two doubles and are now 13-5 overall this season.

UW-W improved its record to 17-6.

The Warhawks defeated UW-Oshkosh earlier this season 8-1 in the Warhawk Invite. Both matches tomorrow are the first times the teams will meet this season.
