The Warhawk gymnastics team made its mark in the UW-W record book with a 187.175, the eighth highest team total in UW-W history in a triangular meet featuring UW-Stout and UW-Eau Claire in Whitewater, Wisconsin Sunday afternoon. UW-Stout was second in the meet with a total of 181.450 and UW-EC totaled 181.200. The meet was Whitewater's annual breast cancer awareness meet with the teams sporting pink to support the cause.

UW-Whitewater won all events, recorded at least the top two scores in all four events individually and took the all-around title in the meet.
Starting the meet on the vault, the Warhawks posted a 46.675, tied for the twenty-first highest score in the UW-W record book.
Katie Thompson (Kingsport, TN/Sullivan South) and
Cici Talcott (Kentwood, MI/) took the top two spots in the final results with a 9.475 and 9.400 respectively. UW-Eau Claire recorded a 43.425 on the uneven bars and the Blue Devils totaled 43.825 on the balance beam in the first rotation.
UW-W took to the uneven bars in the second rotation. Thompson led the team with a 9.675, tied for the fifth highest in school history. Talcott followed in second recording a 9.600, tied for the fifteenth best score in UW-W gymnastics history. The Warhawks tied for the thirteenth highest team bars total in school history with a 45.625. After two rotations, team scores were: UW-W 92.300, UW-Stout 90.125, UW-EC 88.300.
Continuing to improve on the day, the Warhawk gymnasts totaled 47.028 on the balance beam, the highest total on the apparatus for UW-W this season and tied for the sixth highest in school history. Whitewater had the top five finishers in the event led by a 9.525 by
Mary Kate Young (Lawrenceville, GA/Cullins Hill). After three rotations team scores were: UW-W 139.325, UW-Stout 136.425, UW-Eau Claire 135.600.
UW-W really turned it on for the floor exercise recording a 47.850, the highest on the floor this season and tied for the fifth highest in UW-W history. Talcott and Young tied for the top spot on the floor, each registering a 9.625 to tie for seventeenth best in the school record book.
Thompson took the all-around competition tying for the eighth highest all-around total in UW-W history with a 38.075 and her highest total of the season.
The Warhawks will host Hamline University, UW-Stout and UW-Oshkosh in the second annual Harley Davidson meet held at the Frontier Airline Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
