Whitewater, Wis. - The UW-Whitewater gymnastics team made their mark in program history with six new entries in the UWW record books Saturday. The Warhawks compiled the eight-best team total in program history to defeat UW-Stout 192.925-188.175.
Paige Magel (Cary, Ill./Prairie Ridge) was brilliant in the all-around Saturday. The junior posted the best all-around total in Division III so far this season -- 38.800 -- finishing in the top two in three events. Her all-around total is tied for the third highest in program history.
The Warhawks opened Saturday with a solid team effort on the vault. UW-Whitewater swept the top four spots on the apparatus led by
Siena Vavala's (Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada/King City Secondary School) 9.65 that was good for gold.
Sofia Spadafora (Windsor, Ontario, Canada/Saint Thomas of Villanova) and
Juliette Rider (San Antonio, Texas/Acellus Academy) shared silver with 9.6 white Magel's 9.575 tied for fourth.
Danielle Dudziak (Lorain, Ohio/Amherst Steele) rounded out the scoring five with a 9.5.
Magel - the national leader on the bars so far this season - paced the Warhawks in the second rotation. Her 9.775 is the second-highest bars mark in Division III in 2026 and ranks 17th in the program record book.
Elaine Copeland (Arlington, Texas/University Prep) (9.7) and
Jane Heffernan (Galway, Ireland/Jesus & Mary Secondary School) (9.65) made it a podium sweep for UW-Whitewater.
Ariana Goodwin (Elgin, Ill./The Einstein Academy) registered a 9.6 and
Kaleigh Summers (Wentzville, Mo./North Point) added a 9.575 as the Warhawks combined for the eleventh-best team score on the bars - 48.300.
UWW tallied another top-15 team total on the balance beam as Warhawk gymnasts swept second through fifth.
Ashnaya Gupta (Carmel, Ind./Carmel) and Magel shared second with matching 9.7s. Spadafora was fourth with a score of 9.65 followed by a 9.6 from
Kristen Swiebocki (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley). Rider rounded out the scoring crew with a 9.45 on the apparatus.
The floor saw yet another entry in the program record book as UWW's scoring five registered a team score of 48.600 - ranked eleventh in program history. Rider led the way with a 9.8 followed by Magel's 9.75.
Maliyah Pound (Blaine, Minn./Spring Lake Park) and Copeland each claimed a share of bronze with routines scoring 9.725. Dudziak capped the scoring group with a 9.6.
After three consecutive home duals, the Warhawks are headed back on the road next week. UW-Whitewater will take on UW-La Crosse at 6 PM Friday. UWW's final home meet of the 2026 campaign is slated for 4 PM Saturday, February 28th against Hamline. The Warhawks will honor the senior class and recognized the gymnasts who earned NCGA All-America in Academics honor last season at the meet.
