Warhawks Wrap-Up Midwest Invitational with 3-0 Win

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 For the second time in as many days sophomore libero Kelsey Nobilio (Johnsburg, IL/Johnsburg) broke the UW-W record for digs in a match. Nobilio posted 40 in a match against Dominican University Friday and bettered that mark Saturday with 44 digs against Calvin College, the fourth best mark in a match in the history of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, in the Midwest Invitational hosted by Hope College in Holland, Michigan. The Warhawks, ranked seventeenth in the AVCA Division III poll, fell to number two Calvin 3-1 (19-25, 25-22, 29-27, 25-17) in the first match Saturday and wrapped up the invitational with a 3-0 (25-16, 25-15, 25-22) win over Wisconsin Lutheran College Saturday afternoon.

Leanna Lillge (Ixonia/Watertown) led Whitewater with 18 kills in the first match of the day for the Warhawks. The junior outside hitter added ten digs. Kristen Ruchti (Brodhead/Brodhead) joined Lillge in double figure kills with 11 and added two assist blocks. Kim Frei (West Bend/West Bend West) posted 46 assists in the contest. Chelsea Mutton (Rockford, IL/Rockford East) recorded 18 digs and teammate Jaclyn Krizka (Roscoe, IL/Hononegah) added 14 to join Nobilio and Lillge in double digit digs.

Wisconsin Lutheran Recap
The Warhawks bounced back from the loss to Calvin with a 3-0 sweep of Wisconsin Lutheran in the final match of the Midwest Invitational hosted by Hope College.

UW-Whitewater used a collective team effort in the match with sixteen Warhawks seeing action. Leanna Lillge (Ixonia/Watertown) led UW-W offensively with ten kills in 18 attempts with just one error, a .500 attack percentage. Heidi Buss (Cedarburg/Cedarburg) took on the majority of the setting role, posting 20 assists. Nobilio led the team in digs with 22. Whitewater recorded 9.5 total blocks in the match, aided by a solo and two assisted by Ariel Feiertag (Brown Deer/Brown Deer) and three assist blocks by Paige Demos (Janesville/Janesville Parker).

The Warhawks will host their final invite of the season Friday-Saturday, October 19 and 20. UW-W will face UW-River Falls and Illinois Wesleyan Friday at 5:00 and 7:00, respectively. The Warhawks have Edgewood College scheduled for 12:00 Saturday morning.
