Netters Top Carthage

The UW-Whitewater women's tennis team moved to 2-0 this season with an 8-1 victory over Carthage College Sunday in Kenosha.  The Warhawks won in straight sets in all singles matches losing no more than three games in any set.

#4 - Alexandra Bayliss (Sheboygan/North) (UW-W) def. Erin Henrickson (Carthage) 6-0, 6-1
#5 - Megan Kasten (Verona/Verona) (UW-W) def. Abby Ludwig (Carthage) 6-1, 6-1
#6 - Jackie Vitale (Roselle, IL/Lake Park) (UW-W) def. Amanda Bizub (Carthage) 6-1, 6-1

Doubles
#1 - McPeek/Naidicz (Carthage) def. Schaefer/Bayliss (UW-W) 8-4
#2 - Smith/Divelbiss (UW-W) def. Reynolds/Henrickson (Carthage) 8-4
#3 - Lauren Aguilar (Gurnee, IL/Carmel Catholic )/Ja. Vitale (UW-W) def. Ludwig/Bizub (Carthage) 8-1

Bayliss has only lost three games in four singles sets this season and teammate Megan Kasten (Verona/Verona) has only lost four.

The loss drops Carthage to 2-2.

The Warhawks will do battle again when they host an invite on September 17.  The Warhawks will play dual matches against UW-River Falls, UW-Stout and Wheaton beginning at 9:00 am at the Wangerin Courts on the campus of UW-Whitewater.
