Warhawks Win Two, Improve Streak to 15

The Warhawk men's tennis team, ranked eighth regionally by the International Tennis Association, won two matches Saturday to improve its win streak to fifteen. UW-W defeated UW-La Crosse 5-0 in the first match and topped UW-Eau Claire 6-3 Saturday afternoon. Both matches were played at the Ade Olson Indoor Tennis Courts in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

Whitewater's wins in flights one and three were key in setting the tone for the rest of the match against Eau Claire. McGlashen, ranked seventeenth individually in the region, racked up more than 20 winners to improve his record to 6-3 at number two singles.

The Warhawk doubles team of Osborne and Balkin, ranked sixth regionally for doubles competition, posted two wins Saturday to move 23-2.

Niquet improves to 11-1 at number five singles and 23-5 overall this season. Balkin continues his near perfect season at number four singles picking up another win to move to 10-1.

The Warhawks improve to 23-4 this season including the current fifteen game win streak.

Although men's tennis is not part of an official conference, the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference does crown a "final four" champion each year, a title UW-W has now earned six of the last seven years.

The Warhawks will travel to Green Bay, WI to take on UW-Green Bay and St. Norbert College at noon and 3:00 respectively Sunday, April 17.
