Swentik Nets Two as Warhawks Remain Unbeaten

Trevor Swentik (Delafield/Marquette University HS) scored once in the first half and once in the second as the Warhawks defeated the University of Dubuque 2-0 on Wednesday in Whitewater at Fiskum Field.  The Warhawks, ranked 15th in the latest D3soccer.com poll, remain unbeaten at 7-0-1 while Dubuque falls to 7-2-0.

Swentik notched his first goal in the twenty-fifth minute of the match when Dan Montanye (Mukwonago/Mukwonago) fed Logan Fye (Rockford, IL/Winnebago) who distributed the ball to Swentik for the goal.  The Warhawks held the 1-0 advantage until the seventy-second minute when Swentik netted a long bomb off of a pass from Matt Jacobs (Mankato, MN/West) to give the 'Hawks a 2-0 lead.

Both goalkeepers played the full ninety minutes and both tallied three saves.  UW-W only outshot Dubuque by one as the match was evenly played throughout.  The only lopsided stat was that the Warhawks recorded eight corner kicks to Dubuque's two.

The game was littered with fouls, 29 total, thirteen blown on the Warhawks.  Two yellow cards were given to two different Spartans.

The game was taped by UWWTV and will be broadcast on Thursday, September 30 at 7:00 pm on UWWTV Ch.19/96 and Charter Cable Ch.20/989.

The Warhawks return to the pitch on October 3 when they travel to St. Paul, Minnesota to play St. Thomas in a match beginning at 1:00 pm.
