'Hawks Remain Unbeaten with 1-0 Road Win

The UW-Whitewater men's soccer team remained unbeaten after a 1-0 victory over Wartburg College on Sunday in Waverly, Iowa.  The 'Hawks are now 4-0-1 overall and Wartburg is 2-2-0.

Trevor Swentik (Delafield/Marquette University HS) scored the lone goal of the game in the 20th minute off of an assist by Steve Nashleanas (Brookfield/East) while the goalkeeper duo of Matt Mikesell (Waukesha/Kettle Moraine) and Aaron Sesselmann (Green Bay/Notre Dame Academy) took care of the rest.  Each keeper made two saves en route to the Warhawks third shutout of the season.

UW-W outshot Wartburg by one (10-9), but Wartburg racked up the fouls, tallying 19 to UW-W's three.

UW-W will return to action on September 19 when they travel to Waukesha to face-off against Carroll University in a match beginning at 2:00 pm.  The Warhawks' next home game is on September 29 when they host the University of Dubuque in a 7:30 pm match.
