Schaefer, 19-7 in singles, and Smith, 20-7, each had a hand in two points for the Warhawks with singles and doubles wins. UW-W coach
Frank Barnes shuffled his lineup a bit, with Siemon (24-7), Aguilar (18-5), Kasten (8-3), and Divelbiss (11-1) either moving in to the lineup or up in flights. Even Smith played up one flight from her usual number four position.
The win was the Warhawks' second win this season over Carthage. UW-W began the year with a 7-2 win over Carthage September 2 in Whitewater.
UW-W, champion of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and winner of the league's postseason tournament to determine representation in the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III tournament, will await word on May 10 regarding nationals. The NCAA III tourney will begin with regional play May 14-16.
