Megan Blake (Waukesha/Waukesha South) and
Madeline Roznos (Reedsburg/Reedsburg) have been selected as the UW-Whitewater women's track and field athletes of the week for their exceptional performance at the Ted Haydon Invitational.
Blake earned a second place finish in the hammer throw and provisionally qualified for the NCAA division III national meet with a throw of 49.05m(160-11). Her mark, as of 4/5/10, ranks as the fifth best in division III and is a personal best. Megan also took home a pair of fifth place finishes in the shot put and discus, with marks of 11.39m(37-4.5) and 31.37m(102-11) respectively.
Roznos improved her personal best outdoor 5000m time at the Ted Haydon Invitational by over a minute, running an 18:04.92, good for second place. Her performance was also the second fastest outdoor 5000m time by any UW-Whitewater runner.
The Warhawks next meet is the Rex Foster Open, hosted by UW-Whitewater on Thursday April 8.
