Jolyn Owen (Middleton/Middleton) set a school record in the heptathlon scoring 4,176 points at the Augie Invite in Rock Island, Illinois on Saturday.  Owen competed against fifteen other athletes and provisionally qualified for the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III Outdoor Championships in May.

Owen led by 99 points after day one and won the event by 227 points.  Her highest scoring event was the 200 meters where she earned 692 points by running it in 27.24 seconds.

Also competing for UW-Whitewater was Allison Gonzalez (Oak Creek/Oak Creek).  Gonzalez finished in seventh with 2,988 points.  Her best event was also the 200 meters which she ran in 28.11 seconds to earn 622 points.

The previous school record holder for the pentathlon was Danielle Anton (Marshall/Marshall) who scored 3,948 points in 2008.
