The UW-Whitewater men's tennis team improved to 16-8 with an 8-1 victory over UW-Oshkosh on Friday in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
UW-W seemed to move easily through the doubles matches but the singles matches were a bit closer with the Warhawks prevailing in five of the six. The lone singles loss came at the number one position where
Danny Glinert (Madison/Edgewood) fell to James Lewison. Glinert is ranked 24th in the most recent Intercollegiate Tennis Association Central Region poll and Lewison is ranked 25th.
Kelvin Caiati (Greendale/Greendale),
Erik Scanlan (Libertyville, IL/Libertyville), and
Kyle Halweg (Waunakee/Waunakee) each took three sets to win at the number two, four and six singles spots respectively. Caiti improves to 17-9 this season, Scanlan to 13-8, and Halweg to 13-12.
The doubles team of Caiati and Glinert improved to a team best 21-6 with their 8-3 victory at the number one doubles slot.

The four Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference schools have met in La Crosse to compete against one another this weekend. Competition will continue on Saturday when the Warhawks match-up with UW-La Crosse at 9:00 am and UW-Eau Claire at 1:00 pm.
