Several of the matches lived up to their billing. Schmidt is ranked second in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division III Central Region, Schaefer fifteenth, and they went extra games. Schmidt and partner Erin Gudal are ranked fifth in Central Region doubles, with Whitewater's Schaefer and Daciolas fifteenth -- and they went into "overtime".
The bottom half of Whitewater's singles lineup improved their records, with Smith now 16-4, Daciolas 16-5, and Aguilar 11-4. Schaefer and Daciolas reached the twenty win mark in doubles (20-8), and Siemon and partner
Kelly Rutkowski (Waunakee/Waunakee) are 13-3.
UW-W will have another opportunity to burnish its national resume with participation in the Midwest Invitational at the Nielsen Tennis Center in Madison April 2-3.
