UW-Whitewater split a pair of matches on its final day of competition at Hilton Head, South Carolina Thursday, defeating Principia College 9-0 and losing to Carleton College 5-4.
Whitewater, which did not use its usual lineup, did not lose a set in the match against Principia.

The match against Carleton could, in an overused sports cliche', gone either way. Six of the nine flights had to go extra games to determine a winner, with four of the six singles matches going three sets. UW-Whitewater is ranked eighth in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division III Central Region and Carleton is ranked tenth. At number one singles, UW-W's Danny Glinert (Madison/Edgewood), eighteenth in the region, battled Carleton's Peter Dunn, ranked nineteenth in the region, to three sets and extra games in a match emblematic of the afternoon.

Glinert and Caiati improved to 16-5 at number one doubles, and Harmatys upped his singles mark to 10-4.
UW-W is 10-8 in dual meets, 10-6 versus Division III opponents.
The Warhawks will host Grinnell College at 3:30 April 2 on the Wangerin Courts south of Williams Center on campus. There is no admission charge. The next afternoon UW-W will host Lawrence University at 3:00.
