'Hawks Overpower Allegheny

Amy Siemon (Crystal Lake, IL/Crystal Lake South) reached twenty wins in a 9-0 victory over Allegheny College on Monday in Hilton Head, South Carolina.  The 'Hawks won all but one match in straight sets en route to victory in their first match of their spring trip.  UW-W, ranked nineteenth in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association National poll, is now 14-1 overall this season.

The Warhawks had little trouble in doubles competition and won in straight sets in all but the four singles position.  Annie Smith (Algonquin, IL/H.D. Jacobs) went to a tiebreak and won 10-5 for her thirteenth victory of the season.

Siemon, a junior who plays the majority of her matches at the number three singles slot, won her 20th match of the season and is now 20-2 overall.  Siemon has won 20 matches in each of her first three seasons as a Warhawk, going 21-4 in 2007-08 and 21-5 in 2008-09.
