Buchholz's winning height in the high jump was 6-8.75.  That same height was cleared by two more jumpers, including teammate Travis Morehouse (Cottage Grove/Monona Grove), but Buchholz earned first place with fewer misses and Morehouse took second.  Both Buchholz and Morehouse met the provisional qualifying standard for the NCAA III indoor championship.  Whitewater picked up more points in the high jump with Tom Fisher (Green Bay/East) finishing fourth at 6-6.75.

Two relays earned Whitewater's next highest finishes.  The 4x400 went 3:21.56 to place second, and the distance medley relay was clocked in 10:24.8 to finish third.  The 4x200 also picked up third place points in 1:31.11.

Warhawks' Jeremie Bogard (Racine/Horlick) and Aron Kehoe (Monroe/Monroe) finished back to back, third and fourth, in 1:54.68 and 1:55.21.  Bogard's time met the NCAA III provisional qualifying mark.

Brian Gensrick (Mequon/Homestead) also placed for UW-W, finished fourth in the 55 meters in 7.86, and Pat Lockington (Two Rivers/Two Rivers) placed fourth in the pentathlon with a total of 3335 points.

Mike Rossbach (Dousman/Mukwonago) is UW-Whitewater's representitive on the WIAC All-Sportsmanship Team.

UW-W will host the Karl Schlender Last Chance Meet Friday, March 5 in the Kachel Fieldhouse.  There will not be any team scores kept, as teams use the meet as one more opportunity to have athletes meet NCAA qualifying standards or to keep sharp for the NCAA III championship set for March 12-13 at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana.
