Warhawk soccer fans are getting their money's worth. For the second consecutive game a UW-W men's game went through double overtime to end in a 1-1 tie. UW-Whitewater and UW-Platteville played through two overtimes to settle for a 1-1 tie Wednesday evening at Robert W. Fiskum Field in Whitewater Wisconsin. The Warhawks are Dominican University did the same, at Dominican last Thurday. That's 220 minutes of soccer in two matches.

Despite Whitewater out-shooting Platteville 9-3 in the first half, UW-P got on the board first, with B.J. Gottschlich scoring his ninth goal of the year, unassisted, at 23:43.
UW-W finally got to the net at 87:01, with Ryan Richgels (Madison/Memorial) scoring his fifth goal of the year off a Ryan Boyd (Waunakee/Waunakee) assist.
Whitewater had the only shot in the first overtime, and the Warhawks had three more shots in the second OT, but the game ended in a tie. There are no shootouts in the regular season in NCAA Division III play.
Whitewater goalie Andrew Krueger (New Berlin/Catholic Memorial) was called on to make just two saves, while his Platteville counterpart, Kris Bosshart, had seven saves.
Whitewater had ten corner kicks to three for Platteville, and Platteville had 18 fouls to ten for the Warhawks.
UW-Whitewater is 4-3-3 overall and 1-0-1 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Platteville is 5-4-2 and 0-0-1 in league play.
Whitewater will host Wheaton College (IL) Friday at 7:00 at Fiskum Field.
