Aaron Rusch (Hartford/Hartford),
Greg Arnold (Big Bend/Mukwonago) and
Jeff Schebler (Davenport, IA/Assumption) were named the UW-W football Players of the Week with the Warhawks win over Puget Sound Saturday, September 26th at Perkins Stadium, 42-7.
Jeff Schebler (Davenport, IA/Assumption) was also named WIAC Special Teams Player of the Week.
Aaron Rusch (Hartford/Hartford) (WR, junior, Hartford) had five catches for 48 yards and threw one pass for a 32 yard touchdown to
Adam Brandes (Burlington/Catholic Central) in the fourth quarter. Rusch was named the Offensive Player of the Week.
Greg Arnold (Big Bend/Mukwonago) (LB, sophomore, Big Bend) had a total of 10 tackles, four solo and six assisted, with two of them resulting in a loss. He was part of a defense that gave up just it's only touchdown in three games. He was named the Defensive Player of the Week.
Jeff Schebler (Davenport, IA/Assumption) (K, senior, Davenport, IA) was six for six on point after tries. With those kicks, Schebler moved into first on the career scoring list of both UW-W and WIAC charts with his present total at 369. He broke the marks formerly held by Chad Wurth of Whitewater (366, 2000-2003). Schebler is only 14 points behind the NCAA Division III kick scoring mark of 383, held by Mike Zimmerman of Mt. Union (2005-2007). These results also earned Schebler the WIAC Special Teams Player of the Week.
The Warhawks will open up conference play next Saturday, October, 3rd, against UW-Palteville at 1 pm at Perkins Stadium.
