The UW-Whitewater men's soccer team defeated Gustavus Adolphus on Sunday 2-0 in Whitewater at Robert W. Fiskum Field. The win is the third consecutive victory for UW-W who is now 7-4-3 overall. Gustavus falls to 4-5-3 with the loss.

UW-W was awarded a penalty kick in the 28th minute and
Dan Montanye (Mukwonago/Mukwonago) buried one low in the net for a 1-0 lead. The Warhawks outshot the Gusties by one in the first half, 6-5.
Luke Buchholz (Whitewater/Whitewater) extended the Warhawks lead to 2-0 on an assist from Montanye in the 56th minute. The goal is Buchholz's seventh of the season.

Aaron Sesselman (Green Bay/Notre Dame Academy) only had to make five saves on 12 Gustavus shots. Benjamin Kolis, the Gustavus keeper, made four saves on thirteen shots by UW-W.
Today's game marked the 10-year anniversary of the 1999 Warhawk men's soccer team that made it to the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Division III tournament. Three members from that team were in attendance and recognized at halftime. The game also honored men's soccer alumni with several past players in attendance also being recognized at halftime.
The 'Hawks have a week off until their next game when they travel to North Park University in Chicago, Illinois for a 1:00 match. The Warhawks have only two remaining home games on their schedule, the first on October 21 against Principia College and the second on October 27 against Northwood University.
