Thompson posted two wins over the weekend at No. 1 singles to help the Warhawks record three dual wins at Premier Tennis and Fitness in Janesville. On Friday against Wheaton (Ill.), Thompson bested Justin Ancona, a 2016 NCAA Singles Tournament qualifier, by a 1-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-8) score. In that match, he trailed 8-5 in the match-deciding super-tiebreaker before tallying five consecutive points to clinch the match. Thompson returned to action Saturday, besting Jose Coloma 6-3, 6-2 to help UW-Whitewater down Grinnell (Iowa) by an 8-1 score. For the season, he owns six singles wins, including three from the No. 1 position.
